Wings of Charity Ministries

Our vision is to restore hope with a spirit of Godly compassion and love to vulnerable orphans between the ages of 6 years and 12 years, and young widows below 45 years of age

Background

Orphans and widows in Uganda, especially in rural areas, face a lot of challenges. These include irresponsible foster parenthood, hunger, illnesses, poor shelter, and lack of prompt and appropriate medical attention. They also struggle with failure to attend school or acquire life-enhancing skills.

Interventions that would change their lives require generous, compassionate, and consistent donors. Available funds and physical provisions for food and shelter are often inadequate. There are not enough organizations and individuals with such socio-economic concern, and as a result, this vulnerable category of people often suffers from social isolation and economic deprivation.

Vision

The vision of DITRAM is to restore hope with a spirit of Godly compassion and love to vulnerable orphans between the ages of 6 years and 12 years, and young widows below 45 years of age, through comprehensive support and empowerment. This will enhance their quality of life and enable them to become self-sufficient citizens in their communities.

Our Objectives

  1. Restore an opportunity for orphans who are school dropouts due to absence of parents or care takers with will, capacity and ability to keep these orphans in school.
  2. Provide tuition / school fees, school uniforms, and other scholastic materials and one meal a day in the nearest school to their places of residence.
  3. Rescue those whose current environment is very precarious likely to cause them severe trauma, thus necessity rescue, evacuation and custody in a safer and better living environment.
  4. Provide psych-social and spiritual nourishment to those vulnerable children.
  5. Spread Gods love and compassion while trusting God to provide the needed resources, a network of supporters and mechanism for sustainable interventions.
